Islington Town House Renovation

Interior renovation of Islington Town House. A21architects completely gutted the tired-looking interior. We rebuilt the staircase in order to introduce a dual aspect first-floor Living/Dining Room. Opened up the rear at Ground Floor to fully embrace the garden onto the Ground Floor Kitchen/Living Room & Dining area.

Additional bedrooms, offices, and a top-floor Bedroom with Ensuite were also added. The project features extensive use of custom-made oak trims, natural renders as wall finishes, and a lightened ash wood floor on the first floor.

The exterior of the existing building was insulated and re-rendered to match the original and remain in keeping with the adjacent terraced houses. The front windows were extended downwards at Ground Floor to accentuate their verticality and improve the proportions of the front elevation as well as bring in more light.
