Calabria Road, Highbury, Islington

This award winning residential scheme includes 1,700 m² of new contemporary terraced houses on Calabria Road and Corsica Street.

Reinterpreting the terraced home through repeating formal elements developed for contemporary living that are particular to the site. Each house features double storey living spaces to the rear facing the garden. The projecting segmented curved windows provide views of Highbury Fields. This project is referenced as an exemplary project in the Islington Council Publication, Urban Design Guide.

The scheme is built on a derelict semi-industrial site, restoring the streetscape along three adjoining roads. The Calabria road terrace is constructed on cantilevered foundations so the houses do not impact the train tunnel running below.
